All-new Insight hybrids to be given away at each festival

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is working with C3, the promoter of the Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits music festivals, as an official Eco-partner for both events. Honda’s support as an Eco-partner on-site in Chicago, Illinois and Austin, Texas will include integrated “green” activities, hybrid-vehicle displays, and the giveaway of an all-new 2010 Insight hybrid car at each event.

Lollapalooza, scheduled from Aug. 7-9 in Chicago, and Austin City Limits, scheduled from Oct. 2-4 in Austin, are both known for attracting great musical acts and promoting environmental awareness. These two priorities match well with Honda’s long-term support of the arts and Honda’s overall environmental leadership.

“Many Honda customers are passionate about music and they care deeply about the environment,” said Tom Peyton, senior manager of Honda national advertising. “As an Eco-partner at these great music festivals, Honda can help make being ’green’ entertaining and fun.”

Honda is continuing its industry-leading efforts to address the environmental challenges of global climate change, emissions reduction, and energy sustainability through a comprehensive approach that involves further improvements to gasoline-engine fuel efficiency; the development of real-world alternatives to gasoline, including natural gas and the hydrogen-powered fuel cell car; and technology for refueling alternative fuel vehicles. In 2007, Honda was named the “Greenest Automaker” by the Union of Concerned Scientists for the fourth consecutive time.
