Telstra streams ANZAC Day commemorations live

In an Australian first, the commemorations of ANZAC Day will be streamed live by Telstra both across the nation on compatible mobile phones and also broadcast to the world via the internet.

Telstra Media Group Managing Director Mr Justin Milne said Australians can view the live stream on the web or on their compatible Telstra Next G™ mobile and expats around the world can view the ANZAC Day commemorations live online at BigPond.

“Australians, no matter where they are across the nation or around the world, will be able to view ANZAC Day commemorations live on BigPond News,” Mr Milne said.

"ANZAC Day is our national day to remember those men and women who have defended and who are currently defending our country.

"On such an historic and significant day, Telstra will be making sure as many Australians can view live ANZAC Day events, whether they are out and about in Australia, or overseas watching online.

"For the first time we are making our live video stream available to internet users overseas, so expats will be able to watch significant ANZAC Day commemorations such as the Gallipoli dawn service.

“In addition to the live video online, Telstra will also stream live ANZAC Day commemorations on compatible Telstra Next G™ mobile phones,” Mr Milne said.

BigPond News will be reporting on ANZAC Day services and events as they happen from around Australia and the world online at BigPond. This also includes live video crosses to the Sydney and Canberra dawn services, the New Zealand National Wreath Laying, Gallipoli dawn service and the service at Lone Pine.

Anyone can access the BigPond News service online. There is no fee to view the live video stream online and for most BigPond broadband customers this will not affect their monthly usage. Telstra Next G™ mobile customers with a compatible handset can access and read news stories at BigPond News at no charge. Telstra Next G™ customers with a compatible handset can view the BigPond News live stream for $1.95 for a day’s viewing or as part of the BigPond News $4.95 monthly pass.
