Additional Cannes information – 20 April 2009: Orange strengthens its relationship with the Festival de Cannes

Official Partner of the Cannes Festival for the past nine years and its exclusive official telecoms and New Media Partner for 2009. Orange will coproduce TV Festival, broadcasting it on Internet, TV and mobiles customised for Cannes, and will offer special Cannes programming on VOD as well as on its Orange film series bouquet of channels.

Coproduced by Orange and CANAL+, TV Festival will broadcast from the 13th to the 24th of March 2009. As the official channel of the Festival presenting everything that is news at Cannes it will be on air daily on Orange TV (channel 50), orange.fr and Orange mobiles.

Portals customised for Cannes

On orange.fr and its mobile portal Orange World, the film series will be presenting the best moments day by day from this 62 nd edition of the Festival with numerous clips and photos: red carpets, photocalls, trailers for films in the competition, etc

Exceptional VOD catalogue
On Orange TV, the 24/7 video service offers a special VOD catalogue that includes a selection of great films by directors who were “discovered” at the Festival, as well as films presented at Cannes last year, among which Entre Les Murs by Laurent Cantet, 2008 Palme D’Or winner.

Orange event facilities at Cannes
Continuing its partnership with the Festival de Cannes which began in 2000, Orange will provide the organisation with telecommunications facilities and offer Wifi Café services to accredited journalists. And in keeping with tradition, Plage Orange will host the Costes restaurant throughout the Festival.
