Best Buy announces voluntary product recalls of Insignia Television Model IS-LCDTV26, Rocketfish Universal AC/DC/USB Portable Power Source Model RF-INV80

MINNEAPOLIS.– Because the safety of our customers is of upmost priority, Best Buy Co., Inc. has announced the voluntary recall of two Exclusive-Branded products. All units affected by these recalls have been removed from store shelves in both the U.S. and Canada, and are no longer available for purchase. The company is working closely with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to notify customers who have purchased these products. Returned products will be disassembled and the parts recycled through a responsible third-party that meets our electronics recycling standards.

If a component in the power supply of this 26-inch LCD television fails, it is possible the TV can catch fire. Two incidents of fire have been reported, each causing minimal property damage and neither causing injuries requiring medical attention. The model was sold at Best Buy stores in U.S. and Canada, Future Shop stores in Canada, online at www.bestbuy.com, www.futureshop.ca, www.bestbuy.ca, and www.bestbuyforbusiness.com between August 2005 and June 2006, for about $799.99 U.S.

Rocketfish Universal AC/DC/USB Portable Power Source model number RF-INV80
An unknown possible defect in this AC/DC/USB portable power source has led to reports of spontaneous fire during charging. This product was sold at Best Buy stores in the U.S. and online at www.bestbuy.com from July 13, 2008 to Feb. 18, 2009.

All consumers will be asked to call 1-800-233-0462 for instructions to receive a Best Buy gift card for the value of their product.
