GEICO takes to the streets to stop MS in its tracks

WEBWIRE

POWAY, Calif.– GEICO associates are taking to the streets in support of the Pacific Coast Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Family and friends will join GEICO’s team, the GEICO Geckos, in the annual MS Walk on Saturday, April 4 in downtown San Diego and on April 26 at Legoland.

The GEICO Geckos’ 40 walkers have set a goal to raise $2,500 for MS research. As a “Silver Sponsor” this year, GEICO’s Philanthropic Foundation donated $5,000 to the foundation as well.

GEICO will have a booth and free giveaways for participants as well as a drawing to win a gas card. The Gecko will attend the event to motivate walkers and support the GEICO Geckos.

MS is a disease that stops the flow of information between the brain and the body and causes those afflicted to stop moving; it disables the central nervous system and is newly diagnosed in one person every hour in the United States. The Pacific South Coast Chapter provides programs and services designed to help the 18,000 people and families affected by MS in Orange, San Diego and Imperial counties.

To support the GEICO associates and further MS research, please visit the GEICO Geckos’ donation page where you can donate to an individual walker or make a general team donation.
