Turkish Airlines starts summer schedule on 29 March

Turkish Airlines, in a statement issued today, said it will launch its summer schedule starting on Sunday, March 29, 2009 as part of an expansion program.

In addition to raising the number of flights in existing routes, Turkish Airlines will introduce new routes during the summer schedule. It is anticipated that the Available Seat-Kilometer value will be raised by 24 per cent and the total number of landings of aircraft will be increased by 12 per cent during the summer.

In this context, the frequencies of the flights departing from Istanbul were already raised in the routes given below per week for preparatory purposes:
• New Delhi, Bombay and Chicago flights are now operating every day,
• Flights to the following cities were increased as it follows: New York flights up to 9 times from 7, Singapore flights up to 5 times from 4, Seoul, Johannesburg/Cape Town and Lagos flights up to 4 times from 3,
• Dusseldorf and Paris flights were increased up to 4 times from 3,
• Munich and Baku flights up to 3 times from 2,
• Brussels flights up to 21 times from 17,
• Copenhagen, Stockholm, Geneva flights up to 14 from 10,
• Vienna flights up to 18 from 14, Lyon flights up to 10 from 7, Rome flights up to 14 from 12, Prague flights up to 9 from 7,
• Tabriz flights up to 5 from 3, Sana and Lisbon flights up to 4 from 3,
• Zagreb, Sarajevo, Nice, Casablanca, Addis Ababa, Khartoum, Dublin, Venice, Basel, Helsinki flights will operate everyday of the week in this term,
• The frequencies in the following routes which couldn’t be raised up until now because of restrictions on traffic rights, will be raised as Cairo flights up to 14 from 9, Amman flights up to 14 from 11, Barcelona flights up to 14 from 10, Madrid and Beirut flights up to 10 from 7,
• Separating the Abu Dhabi-Muscat flights as of June 1st, Abu Dhabi flight will operate 4 times a week and Muscat flight will operate 5 times a week.
• Separating Bahrain-Doha flights as of June of 1st, flights to both cities will operate every day of the week.
• Separating the Ljubljana-Zagreb flights, flight to Zagreb will run every day of the week, flight to Ljubljana will run 4 times a week,
• On domestic lines, flights to Sinop, a city on the Black Sea cost, will be up to every day of the week from 3,
In addition to frequency increase, Turkish Airlines is aiming to improve its network by offering its passengers even more destinations. Accordingly, the new flights have been planned from Istanbul to Dakar-Sao Paulo, Benghazi and Lviv. In the meantime, flight between Eskisehir-Brussels was launched for the first time in this period.

In addition to those mentioned above, Turkish Airlines, whose one of the top priorities is to provide improved quality and faster service, decided to fly Airbus A321 aircraft, recently joined its fleet including business seats and in-flight entertainment systems, on the new routes of Casablanca, Muscat, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha, Barcelona and Madrid.

A 4-star airline company, Turkish Airlines will be having flights to 116 cities abroad and 36 cities in domestic regions in the summer season.
