DPO3000 Digital-Phosphor Oscilloscopes and RSA 3000B Real-Time Spectrum Analyzers Recognized as Unique, State-of-the-art Electronic Products

BEAVERTON, Ore. - Tektronix, Inc., a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, today announced the DPO3000 digital-phosphor oscilloscopes and RSA3000B real-time spectrum analyzers have been named EDN Innovation award finalists in the oscilloscope and instruments categories respectively. Instituted in 1990, the Innovation Awards honor the people, products, and technologies that have shaped the semiconductor industry over the past year.

“We have our broadest set of categories in the history of our Innovation awards program in 2008,” said EDN Editor-in-Chief Rick Nelson. "With specialization affecting everything from components to test equipment, our staff diligently worked to group like technologies for meaningful comparison and delivered an outstanding slate of finalists, which include the Tektronix DPO3000 digital-phosphor oscilloscopes and RSA3000B real-time spectrum analyzers in their respective categories. The voters will face tough decisions, but without doubt, compelling products will emerge as winners.”

During the month of February, EDN’s worldwide audience of electronic engineers and engineering managers will use an online ballot to select the ultimate winners from among the finalists. EDN’s editorial staff and Editorial Advisory Board also take part in determining the final winners. We encourage you to visit www.EDN.com/innovation19 to review each of the nominees and cast your vote by February 27. Winners will be announced at a dinner and awards ceremony on March 30, 2009, in San Jose, CA.

“In order to enable our customers’ leading-edge developments, we must always be a step ahead, providing the tools that help them create the future,” said Martyn Etherington , vice president of worldwide marketing, Tektronix. “Recognition by a leading industry publication such as EDN affirms our success in meeting those customer needs and we are honored.”

About DPO3000

The DPO3000 digital phosphor oscilloscopes provide triggering and decode support for the most popular serial buses used in embedded applications. The DPO3000 simplifies debug and sets new standards for performance, value, and ease-of-use. The DPO3000 oscilloscope family consists of six models, ranging from 100 MHz to 500 MHz. All models provide 2.5 GS/s sampling with more than 5x oversampling on all channels.

About RSA3000B

The RSA3000B model with 15 MHz bandwidth and the RSA3408B with 36 MHz bandwidth are the only mid-range performance spectrum analyzers that can offer a frequency domain trigger. This is performed using the Frequency Mask Trigger (FMT) feature, finding interfering and transient signals that no other instrument can. FMTensures that potential systems instabilities are eliminated from the design before they can cause a problem. By displaying a seamless record of frequency and power changes over time, the Tektronix analyzers can solve many transient problems ranging from modulation switching on software-defined radio systems to identification of rogue pulses in RADAR transmission to dynamic modulation changes during a WLAN transmission.
