DuPont business Pioneer Hi-Bred is supporting the 2009 Central Iowa Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Walk to Cure Diabetes in Des Moines, Iowa, on March 7. Paul Schickler, Pioneer president and DuPont vice president and general manager, is serving as the event chair.

“Pioneer is doing its part to help find a cure for a disease that affects more than 24 million people in the United States alone,” Paul said. “I’m especially proud to work with our local JDRF chapter, who together with the generosity of thousands of Iowans, raised more than USD 1.6 million last year toward finding a cure.”

The Central Iowa Walk is the seventh largest walk site in the U.S. The theme for this year’s walk is “Lights. Camera. Cure.” Pioneer is expected to “green out” the event with more than 200 team members wearing green Pioneer t-shirts during the walk.
