Setting new standards in ergonomics and design
· The fourth generation of the best-selling power tool is now available in a new design

· Extended Ixo screwdriving system with off-set angle adapter for driving screws close to edges

The new Ixo from Bosch features a sporty and elegant design. In addition to its new look, this small and handy tool can not only take on a wide range of everyday screwdriving tasks. It also has other useful functions, such as a special screwdriving system for driving screws close to edges on furniture. The new screw adapter with eccentric bit holder allows the user to easily insert or remove screws very close to edges, for example on angled kitchen furniture or cabinets close to walls. The off-set angle adapter can be changed just as easily as the well-known angle screw adapter or torque setting adapter. The Ixo looks set to continue its success story: having sold more than eight million units since 2003, the improved Ixo is already aiming for its next record.

Designed for use in various locations throughout the household, the new Ixo features a suspension hook integrated in the ergonomic handle. The lightweight 300-gram screwdriver can be attached to a band or cord, and is always ready to hand.

The new Ixo retains all of the tried and tested features of its predecessors. There is no battery self-discharge thanks to lithium-ion technology, which means that the Ixo is always ready for use. The battery has no memory effect and can be recharged at any time. The work light on the top of the Ixo is handy for working in dark areas; the forward/reverse indicator and charge level indicator make the tool easy to operate; and the ergonomically shaped handle with its large softgrip surface provides a better and more comfortable hold.

The new Ixo will be available at retail outlets from February 2009 onwards, and will come in three versions. The first of these, the Basic version, will include the charging station and ten standard screwdriver bits, in addition to the cordless screwdriver. The recommended retail price including VAT is 49.99 euros. The Special version will also include the angle screw adapter and cost 59.99 euros. The Premium version, retailing at 69.99 euros, will also come with the new off-set angle adapter. Bosch supplies the torque setting adapter for working with small screws or delicate materials as an accessory. All versions on sale can be retrofitted with each screw adapter at any time.
