GefenTV Shows Two New Wireless Extenders so Consumers Can Place Flat Panel Displays and Monitors Anywhere with No Cables Required

Macworld Booth 2501 - GefenTV brings two wireless solutions to Macworld, building on its growing selection of nocables- required extension solutions. By offering different methods of wireless extension, consumers can select the system most applicable to their needs and budget.

Each model operates through sender and receiver units placed at local and remote locations. No cables are required to deliver audio and video from the computer to the extended display, being replaced by radio-based technologies.

GefenTV Wireless for VGA Extender

For digital signage applications and for those who want to retain their existing VGA displays, this new wireless extender allows monitors using the VGA format to be extended up to 33-feet line-of-sight using 802.11 technology. No cables are required to deliver video resolutions up to 720p or 1280x1024 along with two-channel L/R audio from the computer to the extended display. The GefenTV Wireless for VGA Extender can be integrated with home automation systems for added simplicity.

Wireless for HDMI UWB Extender (currently shipping) Uses TZero Technologies ultra wideband to deliver hi-def resolutions to 1080p (30fps) with digital audio 7.1 surround sound and two-channel L/R analog audio up to approximately 30-feet in distance. HD sources such as Blu-ray players, set top boxes or DVRs connect to the two HDMI inputs and one component video input with left/right audio. All three sources deliver video in the HDMI v1.2 format with compatibility for HDMI v1.3 sources and displays. With three A/V inputs, the Gefen Wireless for HDMI UWB Extender operates as an auto switch, allowing access to any of the three sources using the same HDTV or projector. Sources can also be controlled from the display using the IR back channel or by the local selection button available on the sender unit. With CEC (Consumer Electronic Control) support, WiMedia Alliance compliance, HDMI Forum compliance, DCP certification, and FCC certification, the Gefen Wireless for HDMI Extender is a high performance solution perfect for eliminating wiring in small venue and single room applications.
