Unafraid, Unapologetic and Unrelenting, Australia’s Most Controversial Show Hits U.S. Screens, Fooling Everyone from Top Political Figures to Unsuspecting Public

Los Angeles, CA.– G4’s fearless new comedy series from the land down under slams US shores with a wave of stunts and sketches covering controversial topics and exploiting taboos most other shows refuse to touch. “The Chaser,” a team of irreverent wise-guys and award-winning comedians, declare a “War on Everything” in this politically incorrect series, which takes on religion, media, celebrities, politicians, corporations and all kinds of authority. “The Chaser” became a media phenomenon and international topic of conversation following the 2007 APEC summit when they managed to drive a fake Canadian motorcade past Australia’s top security forces all the way to President Bush’s hotel with one of the team members dressed as Osama Bin Laden. “The Chaser’s War on Everything” premieres on Wednesday, January 28 at 9pm ET/PT, only on G4.

The half-hour variety show is written and performed by the Chaser team, made up of Craig Reucassel, Chris Taylor, Julian Morrow, Chas Licciardello and Andrew Hansen. Each episode is presented in front of a studio audience on a set reminiscent of a college dorm, where the team introduces the different segments and stunts, showing the hilarious and embarrassed reactions of their “victims.” Their anti-establishment style features shocking pull-offs that leave audiences asking “did they really do that?” Not afraid to land in the hot seat, the team dares to go where no other show has gone before, including into airports, elections, press conferences, security-sensitive government buildings, churches, award shows, sporting events, fast-food chains, five-star restaurants and more.

“’The Chaser’s War on Everything’ embodies the kind of daring and irreverent attitude that our viewers appreciate,” said Neal Tiles, President, G4. “Online buzz for ’The Chaser’ is already huge thanks to viral videos, which are extremely important to the G4 audience. We’re excited to bring their wild pranks and outrageous sense of humor to US television for the first time.”

Highlights and recurring stunts include:

Firth in the USA – Serial pest Charles Firth travels to the US to see how many people he can piss off. Victims include Hilary Clinton, security guards at top US corporations, football fans, President Bush’s State of the Union Address, a Baptist Church, a US Military Recruitment office and many more.
Mr. Ten Questions – Andrew Hansen messes with unsuspecting celebrities, including Charlize Theron, Hugh Jackman and The Backstreet Boys.
Special Investigation – The guys test security and surveillance systems in airports, major bridges and national landmarks.
Weird Religions – The guys poke fun at various religions to test their tolerance and response rates.
What Have We Learned From History – Craig and Chas dress up as controversial figures from history to see what they can get away with, including Adolf Hitler and KKK members.
Ad Road Test – Mock-commercials poking fun at the advertising industry and mass consumerism.
If Life Were a Musical – The guys annoy ordinary people with silly renditions and obnoxious musical numbers in public places.
“The Chaser’s War on Everything” is produced by Chaser Broadcasting. The series has enjoyed tremendous success in Australia, quickly becoming the country’s most controversial show and earning a top spot on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) television station ABC1.
