Alliant Energy Foundation provides grant to assist with hands-on learning project

The Alliant Energy Foundation is providing a $2,000 grant to the North Tama Community School Construction Tech class to assist with refurbishing the current portable bleacher system and ticket booths at the school. Students will gain hands-on experience and have the opportunity to interact with individuals and business professionals outside the educational setting.

The Construction Tech class is held each Spring semester and is designed to prepare students for the world of work in the construction industry. The students study methods, processes, equipment and material used in building and repair by completing real life community or school projects.

“Our Foundation places a high priority on funding educational projects, as well as projects which enhance a community,” says Marthea Fox, Executive Director – Alliant Energy Foundation. “The bleacher renovation project supports real world learning for students and will be beneficial for residents attending community events. We are delighted to support the North Tama Community School district.”
