Sickness Grips Brits in Benidorm – Regente Hotel Hit Again
Travel law solicitors at a Manchester law firm have learnt that guests at a hotel on Spain’s Costa Blanca have been hit by an outbreak of sickness and diarrhoea that is ruining their holidays in the winter sunshine.
The Regente Hotel in Benidorm has been the focus of attention in previous years with guests struck down with sickness. Andrew Morton, Head of Travel Law at Pannone said, “It seems that the Regente is once again the source of illness amongst guests, some of whom are said to have been hospitalised. Local shop and bar owners have commented to holidaymakers that the Regente is notorious for people coming down with sickness and yet little or nothing seems to have been done about rectifying the situation. People are even being told that the problem is an airborne virus, when all the evidence points to contaminated food or water.”
Mr Morton commented further that anyone suffering illness abroad that they suspect has been caused by conditions in the hotel, should keep as much evidence as they can. This includes keeping receipts for medicines, copies of complaints forms and photographs that may depict poor hygiene standards.
