New Service Provides Customers Convenience, Flexibility, Security and Speed

FORT WORTH, Texas – American Airlines is offering customers another convenient and flexible way to pay for their tickets. American will now accept PayPal for ticket purchases made on AA.com., the airline’s award-winning Web site.

The new PayPal option on AA.com allows customers to fund purchases from their PayPal account utilizing their credit card, debit card, bank account, or PayPal account balance. Purchases are both secure, and speedy, since customers do not have to re-enter any financial information.

The PayPal option is free and available to customers in the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“American Airlines is committed to offering customers more choices and convenience when they purchase travel on AA.com,” said Derek DeCross, American’s Managing Director – Interactive Marketing. “PayPal certainly fills that bill since it gives customers several options in funding their online purchase, and it allows them to pay in a secure and expeditious manner.”

Using the new PayPal option is easy. When purchasing travel on AA.com, customers simply select the PayPal option. They’ll be temporarily directed to PayPal’s secure Web site to log into their account and confirm the transaction or to enroll if they don’t have a PayPal account (enrollment is free). Customers will then be returned to AA.com to finish their transaction.

Currently, PayPal is designed only for purchasing tickets on AA.com. For more information on the new PayPal option, visit www.aa.com/paypal.

PayPal joins a list of other convenient payment options available to customers at AA.com. Earlier this year, American began accepting electronic checks for tickets purchased on AA.com. Payment can be made from a personal checking account in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Visit www.aa.com/echeck for more information.

The Fly Now, Pay Later deferred-payment option also allows customers to apply for instant credit and enjoy six months of no payments for tickets purchased on AA.com. For terms and conditions and more details, visit www.aa.com/paylater.

Additionally, American accepts American Airlines Gift Cards as payment at AA.com. Visit www.aa.com/giftcard for more information.

Customers may, of course, pay with a major credit or debit card. They can even pay with cash for trips booked on AA.com, at more than 55,000 participating Western Union locations in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Canada, the Caribbean and Latin America. A Western Union service fee applies. See www.aa.com/westernunion for more information.
