MIPS Technologies Expands HDMI Portfolio with Industry’s First 45nm IP Cores; 90nm IP in Silicon

Company’s 65nm HDMI IP Cores Nominated for Elektra 08 European Electronics Industry Award

The company also announced that its 65nm HDMI IP is now silicon-proven, and was recently named as a finalist for Embedded System Product of the Year in the annual Elektra European Electronics Industry Awards.

HDMI has emerged as the dominant digital interface for a wide array of consumer electronics, representing the de facto standard for creating high-bandwidth, streamlined connections between digital devices. According to technology market research firm iSuppli Corporation, HDMI-enabled equipment will grow to 772.8 million units in 2012, rising at a compound annual growth rate of 32 percent from 193 million units in 2007.
