Avnet Expert to Present on Point-of-Load Module Alternatives at the Embedded Power Conference in San Jose

PHOENIX -- The Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT) announces that Power Technology Specialist Chris Cooper will present at the inaugural Embedded Power Conference on September 17, 2008, at the Marriott Hotel in San Jose, California.

Cooper will present “An Alternative to Expensive Point-of-Load Modules” - an introduction to the new Power Module Reference Design (PMRD-0012). Soon to be released by Avnet and featuring the National Semiconductor LM3495 Powerwise® buck regulator, the PMRD fills the gap between design efforts for discrete solutions and off-the-shelf modules. The PMRD architecture is specifically designed with flexibility in mind, supporting a wide input and output range. Attendees will learn how the PMRD can help lower design cost and effort, minimize risk, and gain the necessary design flexibility to meet multiple board-level power design requirements.
