Progressive opens state-of-the art concierge claims service facility that makes it easier than ever to get cars fixed after accidents.

PITTSBURGH . — Anyone who’s ever been in a car accident knows that even a minor fender bender can be a major hassle. But it doesn’t have to be that way thanks to a new Progressive concierge claims service facility opening today in the Pittsburgh area.

Drivers who choose to use the free service can simply drop off their damaged car at the concierge claims service facility and be on their way in a rental car in about 15 minutes. Progressive then handles the details of the claims/repair process, including finding a quality body shop that can get to work on the car quickly.

Without the service, drivers can spend several days managing the process on their own, including arranging for alternate transportation, getting repair estimates, and keeping tabs on the status of the repairs.

“Our concierge service is all about convenience,” said David Moore, manager of Progressive’s Pittsburgh area service center. “It’s designed for busy people who simply don’t have a lot of extra time to spend on the claims and car repair process.”

The optional concierge service is available at no charge to Progressive customers and anyone involved in a claim with a Progressive customer. The repairs are guaranteed by both Progressive and the body shop for as long as the customer owns or leases the vehicle.

Progressive began piloting the concierge claims service concept in 2000 and, in March 2002, opened what was then only its seventh site in Penn Hills. The new facility is in Wilkinsburg and replaces the Penn Hills site. It is one of 54 sites countrywide. In January of this year, Progressive received a U.S. patent for its concierge claims method. And, the J.D. Power and Associates 2007 Insurance Claims StudySM found the service delivers repaired vehicles back to customers almost five days faster than the industry average.

In addition to having a more customer friendly and aesthetically pleasing design than the original facility, the new concierge center is also more accessible to Greater Pittsburgh drivers, conveniently located at 902 Brinton Rd near the intersection of I-376 and Ardmore Blvd.
