Plano, Texas – GENBAND, a market-leading developer of next-generation IP infrastructure solutions, has been named to Inc. Magazine’s prestigious list of the fastest growing private companies in America for the second consecutive year, ascending to #109 overall. Inc.’s 27th annual list is the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy – America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. Companies such as Zappos, Intuit, GoDaddy, Under Armour, Jamba Juice, American Apparel, Oracle and hundreds of other powerhouses gained early exposure as members of the Inc. 500.

“If you want to find out which companies are going to change the world, look at the Inc. 500,” said Inc. Editor Jane Berentson. “These are the most innovative, dynamic, fast-growing companies in the nation – the ones coming up with solutions to some of our knottiest problems, creating systems that let us conduct business faster and easier, and manufacturing products we soon discover we can’t live without. The Inc. 500 list is Inc. magazine’s tribute to American business ingenuity and ambition.”

Last year GENBAND ranked 194 overall and no. 12 in the telecommunications category.

“We feel very fortunate to receive this prestigious award for the second consecutive year,” said Charles Vogt, president and chief executive officer of GENBAND. “GENBAND is experiencing even stronger performance this year, receiving multiple industry and business awards which are a direct result of our extraordinary employees, shareholders and strategic partners. We look forward to continuing our momentum and capitalizing on the tremendous mobile broadband and wireline telecommunications opportunities in the industry.”

GENBAND is an innovator of IP technology that enables fixed and mobile operators to transport and route multimedia services over the Internet. The company is recognized as a worldwide market-share leader in IP Gateways ($1.6 billion market) by industry analysts Infonetics and Synergy Research.

During the past four calendar years, GENBAND has successfully secured business with more than half of the world’s top 100 network service providers, partnered with six of the world’s largest telecom equipment manufacturers, extended its global reach to over 60 countries, executed three acquisitions, grown revenues from $5 to $94 million and expanded its employee base from 90 to 475.

In June, GENBAND’s CEO Charlie Vogt was recognized as Ernst & Young’s Regional Entrepreneur of the Year in the technology category.

First introduced in 1982, the Inc. 500 recognizes companies which drive the U.S. economy, crossing a wide range of sectors including consumer products, financial services, retail and technology. The Inc. 500 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth over a four-year period.
