(MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.) – August 22, 2008 – Skyfire Labs, makers of the aptly titled Web experience browser, Skyfire, boosted their accomplished team with the addition of Raj Singh as they accelerate in preparation for general availability later this year. Singh had previously worked with Skyfire on a consulting basis, but now joins Skyfire full-time as the new VP of Business Development. In his new role, Singh will be responsible for developing revenue and distribution deals.

Singh is the consummate mobile insider, with contacts in the industry that span the globe, and whose knowledge has touched over 100 mobile content initiatives, startups and publicly traded entities. Before Skyfire, Singh worked as the consulting Director of Mobile for Dell, assisting them with their global SMS and WAP strategy.

Prior to that, Singh co-founded and served as the VP of Product Management for Veeker, NBC’s mobile video citizen journalism service, and as the President of ToneThis, CNET’s top-downloaded ringtone creation product. He has also held various product management and strategy roles at companies including Kodak Mobile, MobiTV, Tellme, Cellmania, PlayPhone and Hungama Mobile. Additionally, Singh previously was the mobile business blogger for O’reilly Emerging Telephony and acts as a mobile advisor to several companies, including buzzd, ChuckD Mobile and Movoxx, as well as several venture capitalists throughout Silicon Valley.

“Skyfire was especially interesting because not only was the technology disruptive but the business model was disruptive as well,” said Singh. “Our launch coincided with a general realization that a better browser was needed, driven by the iPhone. I think you’ll see a lot of shake-up in this space over the next couple years and I want to be part of this disruption.”

Raj Singh is the third in the line of recent stellar talent acquisitions from Skyfire, joining CMO Adam Sexton and Scalability Architect Mike Rowehl.

“You’d be hard-pressed to find a more connected person in the mobile industry than Raj Singh,” said Skyfire CEO and Co-Founder Nitin Bhandari. “Raj’s impressive entrepreneurial track record and deep mobile technology expertise make him a valuable asset to our team.”
