British Tourists Hit by Sickness at Holiday Village Hotel in Turkey
A holiday village in Turkey is causing big problems for British holidaymakers, with reports of hundreds of people being hit by sickness and diarrhoea.
Travel law solicitor, Andrew Morton, from Manchester law firm Pannone LLP, says his firm is being contacted by an increasing number of guests returning from the Holiday Village Turkey Sarigerme. “It looks like a serious outbreak” he commented, adding, “the additional problem would seem to be the complete inadequacy of tour reps, mainly from First Choice, to deal with the situation.”
Reports include guests being ushered from the hotel pool because of excrement in it and tour reps telling people to leave the hotel and clear out their belongings because their holiday was over, even though they were still desperately ill and still in hospital.
Advice for victims of the Turkey holiday hell from Andrew Morton includes; making complaints formal to the tour rep and getting a copy of the complaint, keeping receipts of medicines purchased and getting the names and addresses of fellow guests who can corroborate their story. Added Mr Morton, “see your doctor when you get home and take advice from a specialist solicitor.”
