Kroger and Ufcw Local 1059 in Columbus Reach Fully-Recommended Tentative Agreement

COLUMBUS, Ohio.- The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) announced today it has reached a tentative agreement on a new contract with the United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 1059 in Columbus, Ohio.

The tentative agreement covers more than 11,000 Kroger associates who work in 87 stores in and around Columbus.

The UFCW will present the fully-recommended tentative agreement to its members for ratification during several meetings scheduled for Friday, Aug. 15 at various locations. Details of the tentative agreement are not being released pending ratification.

“Both Local 1059 and Kroger came together and worked hard to reach an agreement that provides quality jobs and affordable, quality health care for associates and their families. This tentative agreement also keeps Kroger competitive in this marketplace,” said Bruce Macaulay, president of Kroger’s Columbus division.
