TORONTO, July 2008 — Last night at Polson Pier in Toronto, Charles Lalljee hit his ball closest to the pin, at a distance of 12 feet and one quarter inch, to win the RBC Canadian Open Million Dollar ShootOut. While no one secured the million dollar prize by sinking a hole-in-one, Lalljee still drove away with first prize - a two-year lease on a new BMW 1-series sedan.

The victory came after a week-long competition, where RBC invited the public to take a 165-yard shot onto an authentic floating island green in the Toronto Harbour for a chance to win $1,000,000.

In addition to the RBC Canadian Open Million Dollar ShootOut competition, RBC Canadian Open competitors - Camilo Villegas and Anthony Kim took on Chris DiMarco and Mark Calcavecchia to see who could get their shot closest to the pin and win $5,000 for charity. In honour of their efforts, RBC donated $5,000 to both the Bloorview Kids Rehab, Canada’s largest children’s rehabilitation teaching hospital and to Reach Out Centre for Kids, the largest children’s mental health service provider in Halton Region.

The RBC Canadian Open Million Dollar ShootOut was created to build excitement leading up the RBC Canadian Open, which takes place July 21-27 at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville. For tickets call 1-800-571-OPEN or visit the website, www.rbccanadianopen.com.
