Cypress Appoints Industry Veteran Ben Lee as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales

SAN JOSE, CA, July 2008 -- Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE: CY) today named Ben A. Lee as senior vice-president of worldwide sales, reporting to Christopher Seams, executive vice president of sales and marketing.

Lee brings 20 years of experience in sales, marketing and executive leadership in the semiconductor industry, having worked with companies specializing in programmable solutions, as well as broadline suppliers. Most recently, he was Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Trident Microsystems, where he worked with the CEO to define the company’s market vision. Previously Lee was Chief Operating Officer at Apexone, responsible for day-to-day operations of the China-based mixed-signal start-up.

Lee spent six years at Altera, serving as vice president of Asia-Pacific Sales and managing director of Altera International Ltd. He led highly successful sales and marketing campaigns that increased sales in Asia by over 400% and established Altera as a premier brand. He also has held senior marketing and sales roles with National Semiconductor and Chartered Semiconductor, both in Silicon Valley and Asia.
