Santa Clara, California (July 2008) — The Marvell Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL), today announced it has raised over $1.1 million for disaster relief in China and Burma. The company’s employees worldwide have donated approximately $552,000—in excess of $100 per employee. The company made a matching contribution to the Foundation.

Shortly after the disasters, Marvell instituted a plan to assist employees in making donations to the relief efforts in both countries and to double the value of those donations with a matching contribution from Marvell. The Marvell Foundation will donate the disaster relief funds to relief efforts on the ground.

Dr. Sehat Sutardja, Marvell’s president and chief executive officer, said, “We knew that many Marvell employees were deeply concerned and saddened by the disasters in China’s Sichuan province and in Burma. We wanted to ensure that financial contributions would help to relieve the suffering of those who have been directly impacted.”

“Many Marvell employees have close ties to Asia,“ he continued. ”I know how much they want to help victims of these disasters, and we’re proud that the Marvell Foundation will maximize the impact of their contributions"
