Dominican Republic Sickness Bug at Bahia Principe Hotel Generating Compensation Claims, Again

Andrew Morton commented, “We are receiving reports that a significant number of hotel guests at the 940 room Bahia Principe hotel are currently suffering from illness. Last year there were some 1500 complaints of sickness at the Bahia Principe and all the evidence points to an epidemic of at least the same proportion this year. We have also had literally hundreds of claims for compensation from other British tourists who travelled to the Dominican Republic, a holiday destination which seems beset by problems caused by poor hygiene standards. The Riu group of hotels on the island seem to have been particularly affected.”

Furious
The latest outbreak of sickness is affecting tourists who stayed at the Bahia Principe this season, and reports suggest that the holidaymakers are “furious” at the way both Thomas Cook and First Choice, the other operator using the hotel, are dealing with their complaints.
