Asiana Airlines Selects Pratt & Whitney to Power 777-200ER Aircraft in Deal Valued at US$135 Million

FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW .– Asiana Airlines has selected Pratt & Whitney PW4000-112” engines to power three new Boeing 777-200ER aircraft in a deal valued at more than US$135 million. The contract includes installed engines and a long-term service agreement provided by Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners. Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

Asiana currently operates 777-200ERs with PW4090 engines, Airbus A330-300 aircraft with PW4168A engines and A320-family aircraft powered by V2500 engines. Deliveries for the new PW4090 engines will begin in 2009.
