Long-time sales executive assumes senior responsibilities

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS), the global leader in application delivery infrastructure, today announced the appointment of Al Monserrat as senior vice president of sales and services effective immediately. Monserrat replaces John Burris, who is leaving Citrix to join Sourcefire, Inc., as president and chief executive officer. (See Citrix news release dated June 16, 2008.)

“Al is the ideal candidate to lead the sales and services team,” said Burris. “He has proven he can deliver outstanding results; he has experience across each of the sales and services functions; he knows the Citrix customer base; and he has earned the respect of our channel partners.”

Monserrat most recently has served as vice president of channels and emerging product sales, responsible for relationships with the Citrix Solutions Advisor (CSA) channel, systems integrators, independent software vendors and original equipment manufacturers. He has led the development of alternate routes to market as well as the incubation of new products, either acquired or developed internally, and has led worldwide sales strategy and sales operations. From 2004 to 2006, Monserrat guided North American sales, re-engineering all aspects of that group’s go-to-market strategy, including redefining Citrix channel strategy, enterprise sales processes and establishing new people practices. Under Monserrat’s leadership, North America doubled sales revenue and grew new product revenue from under five percent to nearly 40 percent in that time. Prior to his North American sales role, Monserrat was responsible for the global Citrix field services organization, including Citrix consulting services, education and market readiness.

“Al has made enormous contributions to Citrix over the past eight years,” said Mark Templeton, president and chief executive officer for Citrix. “He has the right combination of experience across all aspects of the sales and services organization, and has played a critical role in helping John build a world-class team. Most important of all, he really understands our partner network and our customers.”
