Preferred Health Systems (http://www.phsystems.com), one of the largest health care insurance and provider networks in Kansas, is upgrading its document management and workflow system to SunGard’s EXP Macess, a leading enterprise content management and workflow system (http://www.sungard.com/exp). Preferred Health Systems chose SunGard’s EXP to introduce more automated processes, advanced integration, optimization and workflows into the company’s claims management and call center departments in order to improve customer service and communication between departments.

Kyle Bayliff, director of information services at Preferred Health Systems, said, “Our goal is to offer as much flexibility as possible to our membership and employer groups, and SunGard’s EXP gives us the ability to build that flexibility into our process and systems through integration. SunGard’s open platform, user-defined workflow and process management will help us to achieve greater efficiencies and improve quality of service in our claims management and call center workflow.”

Jason Ingram, president of SunGard’s workflow and business processing business, said, “SunGard’s EXP integrates and streamlines processes while replacing complexity with automation. This helps organizations like Preferred Health Systems improve the way their clients and employees interact with information and with each other, helping them to meet their goals for efficiency and service.”

Since the mid-1990s, Preferred Health Systems has used SunGard’s EXP Macess predecessor product, I-MAX, for document management and workflow. A thorough vendor review process and SunGard’s successful conversion rate were factors in its decision to upgrade to EXP.
