Juniper Captures Network Infrastructure Grand Prix for Second Consecutive Year
TOKYO and SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 2008 -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that its high-performance EX-series Ethernet switches won the Grand Prix for small and medium business (SMB) network infrastructure at Interop Tokyo 2008. The award is Juniper’s second consecutive Grand Prix at the event following a 2007 win for the company’s T1600 service-aware core router.

The Juniper Networks J-series services router with the WXC Integrated Services Module 200 (ISM 200), which delivers best-in-class application acceleration capabilities with high-performance secure connectivity for the J-series routers, each won a Special Prize in the SMB network infrastructure category. A further Special Prize was awarded to the Juniper Control System (JCS) 1200, the industry’s first high-performance control plane scaling platform, in the carrier/service provider network infrastructure category.

“Being honored with several Interop Tokyo product awards is a testament to our commitment to delivering a high-performance network infrastructure that is based on best-in-class routing, switching, security and application acceleration products,” said Masanori Osuga, vice president of Japan for Juniper Networks. “The top honor for the EX-series switches further recognizes that Juniper is advancing the economics of networking with a new generation of switches that run on JUNOS software, a single-source code base network operating system.”

The awards recognized the most innovative products, solutions and services among 351 exhibitors at this year’s Interop Tokyo, one of Asia’s largest annual network computing tradeshows. Held June 9 to June 13, the event attracted close to 150,000 attendees and featured keynote addresses, a conference program and an expo area for vendor showcases.
