WASHINGTON, DC, June 2008 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has received the 2008 Champions of Veterans Enterprise Award in the category of Corporate Achievement from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Veterans Enterprise. The Champions recognition program, now in its seventh year, recognizes federal contractors that have awarded $1 million dollars or more to Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) and exceeded the 3 percent SDVOSB subcontracting goal. The Harris Government Communications Systems business exceeded these requirements during the government fiscal year 2007.

“We are honored to receive this award and, more important, to be in a position to support the business endeavors of the men and women who have so bravely served our nation,” said Don Weiss, director of Supply Chain Management for Harris Government Communications Systems. “Harris excels in its utilization of small business suppliers and has a heritage of highly successful performance in this area. This award is a testament to our commitment to utilizing veteran-owned small businesses to directly contribute to high-tech solutions that can benefit soldiers everywhere.”

The awards presentation was held today at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, DC as part of the second annual Veteran-Owned Business Accountability Summit — a joint government/private sector collaboration to advance the veteran business movement. The goal of this one-day event is to bring together the most influential people involved in their respective fields to improve opportunities for the nation’s three-million veteran-owned small businesses.

In addition to Corporate Achievement, awards were presented in the categories of Federal Champions, Corporate Champions, Support Sector Champions and Federal Achievements.
