Invisible Fence Brand Signs on as National Sponsor of AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day

The American Kennel Club® is pleased to welcome Invisible Fence Brand as a returning sponsor of AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day (AKC RDO Day). A nationwide initiative in its sixth year, AKC RDO Day engages dog-related organizations across the country to educate the public about the importance of being a responsible dog owner and celebrate the deep bond between humans and their canine companions.

In honor of the day, the AKC will hold flagship events in New York City on September 20, 2008 and Raleigh, N.C. on September 27, 2008 that will include AKC Canine Good Citizen® testing, agility demonstrations, games, free brochures and giveaways. One of the highlights includes an AKC Meet the Breeds® exhibit featuring AKC-registered purebred dogs. In addition, nearly 5,000 AKC affiliated dog clubs as well as dog-related organizations nationwide are invited to take part by holding a community event that publicly promotes responsible dog ownership anytime during the month of September.

Last year, nearly 400 dog clubs and organizations hosted AKC RDO Day events, reaching millions of dog lovers and potential pet owners through event participation and local media coverage. Invisible Fence Brand, the leader in electronic pet containment, will participate in local events where dealers and distributors are available and provide free collapsible water bowls to participants.
