CALGARY, CANADA - June 2008 : – GE Energy’s Oilfield Technology business will relocate its Canadian operations from the existing NE Calgary site to an expanded 36,000-sq. ft. facility in Calgary to allow for its continued growth, announced Jim Junker, chief operating officer of the Oilfield Technology business.

The operation center will be co-located in the facility with GE Energy’s Transmission and Distribution business. The Oilfield Technology operations of Wireline and Drilling Tools product lines incorporates the acquisition of Sondex in late 2007 and now includes the new open hole formation evaluation products. The center will provide design and manufacturing, machining services, materials and parts warehousing, and a customer service support section.

The company will utilize the GE facility in Calgary to increase its space and improve its product and service offerings. The new center will enable streamlined manufacturing processes, a decrease in cycle time for production, and enhancement of the customer service environment. GE intends to replicate around the world, where possible, this Calgary operations model for its Oilfield Technology product lines.

“This relocation will allow us to provide an integrated local presence able to support our customers through the entire lifecycle of our equipment, including technology development, manufacturing, support and repairs,” said Lane Roberts, Wireline products general manager. “It also highlights GE Energy’s investment and commitment to grow its local presence and expand its capabilities in Canada.”

The relocation process will begin in the third quarter and be complete by the fourth quarter of 2008.
