Ms. Knudsen has served as Vice-Chair of the Environmental Committee for over eight years. Ms. Knudsen’s two-year term begins May 2008. As a National Committee Chair, Ms. Knudsen also serves on the 2008-2009 SAME Board of Directors.

The mission of the Society of American Military Engineers is to promote and facilitate engineering support for national security by developing and enhancing relationships and competencies among uniformed services, public and private sector engineers, and related professionals.

The Mission of the SAME Environmental Affairs Committee (EAC) is to enhance professionalism, create value for the civil service and military members, and provide true training and a forum for interchange of ideas. The EAC seeks to achieve this mission through several avenues, including guest speakers on relevant topics during monthly conference calls, supporting conferences that promote environmental awareness and Committee objectives, and special membership meetings at SAME national conferences to recruit new members and promote the EAC Mission. This is the first time that an environmental laboratory professional has been elected to this position.
