PHOENIX -- Avnet Electronics Marketing, an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), and its specialized Avnet United division, have received the Supplier of the Year Award from National Instruments. The award recognizes Avnet’s overall performance as a supplier during the 2007 calendar year.

In addition to overall performance, Avnet also made a significant impact as a supplier for National Instruments in four key areas: quality of parts provided; lead time and on-time delivery; pricing - including cost savings and payment terms; and customer service.

Avnet United supports customers like National Instruments globally by delivering creative, quality, cost-saving solutions and supply chain services to meet their technical needs. “The performance of Avnet over the last year demonstrates continuous improvement and a willingness to drive new supply chain solutions that support our needs for true global capabilities,” said Scott Christman, director of global procurement for National Instruments. “We look forward to even greater success in 2008.”

“Avnet United is committed to growing its collaborative efforts with National Instruments and the supply chain network as a whole - and it’s an honor to be acknowledged for those efforts in such a positive way,” said Gerry Fay, senior vice president of global strategic accounts for Avnet United. “We look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with National Instruments well into the future.”
