Mexican Cable Operator Deploys M-series and SSGs to Increase Security, Scalability and Reliability of VoIP and VoD Services
SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 2008 -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Mexican cable operator Cablecom Group increased the performance and security of its IP network by deploying Juniper Networks M-series routers and Secure Services Gateways (SSGs) throughout the backbone and edge of its network. By upgrading to a next-generation network based on Juniper’s routing and security solutions, Cablecom can now enhance the Quality of Service (QoS) of its Voice over IP (VoIP), Video on Demand (VoD) and Multiplay applications as well as accelerate the deployment of new services, while controlling operational costs.

“With Juniper routers and Secure Services Gateways deployed in our domestic IP network, we are now able to improve the performance, security and reliability of our Multiplay services -- satisfying customer needs for a high-quality user experience,” said Agustin Camelo, CTO, Cablecom Group. “The Juniper solution helps to ensure greater QoS for our customers while future-proofing our network for evolving business needs.”

Due to escalating network demands, Cablecom Group decided that it was time to replace its legacy routing solutions in favor of Juniper’s high-performance solution to more effectively meet the needs of its expanding customer base and increasingly advanced services. Juniper’s M-series multiservice edge routing platforms enable Cablecom Group to consolidate multiple networks and applications onto a single IP infrastructure, reducing costs while simultaneously delivering new leading-edge services.

The Juniper Networks SSG family of integrated network security appliances is purpose-built to deliver a perfect blend of performance, security and LAN/WAN connectivity. Traffic flowing in and out of the customer site can be protected from worms, Spyware, Trojans, and malware by a complete set of optional Unified Threat Management (UTM) security features.

Juniper Networks M-series routing portfolio uniquely combines best-in-class IP capabilities with unmatched reliability, stability, security, and service richness. These routing platforms allow providers to consolidate multiple networks onto a single IP infrastructure, while simultaneously generating new revenues with leading-edge services.

“Juniper understands that service providers around the world are moving from service-specific networks to converged next-generation networks to expand and accelerate service model innovation and drive greater network monetization,” said Tim Lambie, vice president, Americas International, Juniper Networks. “This solution provides Cablecom Group with a service-enabling network infrastructure without sacrificing security, reliability or scalability, ensuring efficient delivery of Multiplay services based on the specific needs of their users.”
