Agfa and Quantum Medical Imaging Sign Letter of Intent for Value Added Reseller Agreement

Deal gives Quantum customers access to increased line of Agfa products.

Agfa’s HealthCare business group announced today that Quantum Medical Imaging of Ronkonkoma, New York (USA) has signed a letter of intent with Agfa, establishing Quantum as a value added reseller of exclusively Agfa products, systems, solutions and services in the United States. Once finalized, the agreement will allow Quantum to provide digital and analog imaging solutions to its complete dealer distribution channel and meet the needs of its customers.

The three-year, renewable agreement will also include the possible development of entirely new product packages combining complementary Agfa and Quantum technological solutions.

Quantum, which manufactures radiology imaging equipment for the hospital, imaging center, orthopedic, private practice, as well as the chiropractic, and veterinary markets, has an affiliate dealer network of approximately 75 dealers and resellers, within the United States.

“This new relationship will open up new opportunities for Agfa, increase our national presence and provide additional synergies with other products that Quantum sells,” said Agfa’s Brian Hilgers, director Corporate Healthcare, Channels and OEM Business, North America. “Quantum was interested in further expanding its product line and felt that a working relationship with Agfa would provide the best solutions with which to accomplish that goal.”

Quantum has committed to fully utilize its nationwide dealer network on a daily basis to create new opportunities and to let Agfa benefit from the strong bond that its sales and marketing personnel already have with their dealers and resellers. Additionally, Quantum’s service and applications group will complement Agfa’s plans for continued growth in the imaging center and community hospital markets.
