The RITZ-CARLTON Los Cabos, QUIVIRA and The RESIDENCES at the RITZ-CARLTON Los Cabos, QUIVIRA announce area’s first luxury branded address

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C., in cooperation with Mexican resort developer Ernesto Coppel announces plans for a proposed 200-room hotel and 200 luxury residences on a secluded and expansive three-mile beach within the 1,850 acre Quivira residential resort community in Los Cabos, Mexico. The Residences will be the first luxury branded address in the area and will break ground in Summer 2008. Plans are underway for The Ritz-Carlton Los Cabos, Quivira, an oceanfront resort, to open in early 2011. It will be the third location in the country for the award-winning company, which announced an upcoming project in Mexico City and currently operates a resort in Cancun, winner of Mexico’s National Quality Award.

In conjunction with leading Mexican resort developer Ernesto Coppel, who founded Quivira, The Residences and proposed hotel will be the cornerstone of a resort community that includes two 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses, featuring more oceanfront holes than any other development on the Baja peninsula. The planned hotel will rest on a 31-acre oceanfront site against protective and picturesque foothills, giving guests a sense of serene seclusion with sandy beaches, intimate coves and open desert mountain views. Bordering the other side of the resort will be two Jack Nicklaus Signature oceanfront fairways. Every guestroom will have ocean views and spacious balconies.

With a 6,000 square-foot ballroom, 2,400 square-foot junior ballroom, three meeting rooms and a boardroom, the proposed hotel will be the premier location for groups planning conferences and individuals hosting special events, weddings and social occasions in Los Cabos.
