162-room Hotel Central Park Rome to be Rebranded.

Boasting spectacular views of St. Peter’s Basilica, the 162-room Hotel Central Park Rome will be rebranded the Courtyard by Marriott Rome Central Park by Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) later this year under a franchise agreement reached with I.R.P.S Srl. The hotel will remain open for guests while renovations are complete.

Located in a quiet residential area called Balduina/Monte Mario, the Courtyard by Marriott Rome Central Park is Marriott International’s fourth property in Rome, and the second to carry the Courtyard brand flag.

“We are delighted by the continued expansion of our hotel portfolio in this sensational city,” said Arne Sorenson, Marriott’s chief financial officer and president of continental Europe lodging. “The Courtyard by Marriott Rome Central Park nicely complements our existing hotels in the city and, following the planned renovation, will provide visitors to Rome a stylish, moderately priced hotel option.”

Courtyard by Marriott is Marriott’s largest brand with nearly 800 hotels worldwide. The brand appeals to a new hybrid breed of achievement- and enjoyment-focused travelers who actively balance the demands of business and their own demands for personal time. These guests are highly engaged and use all aspects of the hotel in their pursuit of a balanced life while traveling on business or leisure.

Public space at the Courtyard by Marriott Rome Central Park will evoke a residential feeling of scale and an ambience that is, at once, casual but of high quality, allowing guests to feel relaxed, comfortable and welcome.

Following the renovation, guestrooms at the Courtyard by Marriott Rome Central Park will be stylish and innovative and will be replete with Marriott’s highly-acclaimed, plush bedding and bath linens. Other guest room amenities include a balcony for enjoying the Rome skyline, high-speed internet access, large well-lit work desk, comfortable ergonomic chairs and a coffee maker. Wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.

The Courtyard by Marriott Rome Central Park will have an open-space lobby bar/lounge for impromptu mini-gatherings. For dining, the hotel has a contemporary fine-dining restaurant called “Moscati” offering Mediterranean and traditional cuisine. An adjacent terrace offers al fresco dining during warmer months. For recreation, the hotel boasts the “Corpus Sport Center” with sauna, Turkish bath, a relaxation area and four work-out areas.

For conferences and social events, the hotel offers facilities capable of accommodating up to 300 persons.

Other amenities include a business center, concierge services, a retail shop, hairdresser, parking and an airport shuttle service to downtown.

Marriott International is currently represented in Rome by the 151-room Rome Marriott Grand Flora Hotel, the 601-room Rome Park Marriott and the 185-room Courtyard by Marriott Rome Airport.
