Sam’s Club Welcomes Danville Community to Grand Opening Celebration

New Club Opens Just in Time for Race Season

BENTONVILLE, Ark., March 2008 –Sam’s Club, a division of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., will open a new facility at 215 Piedmont Place, Danville, VA 24541. The new location marks the 15th Sam’s Club location in Virginia.

Grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremonies begin at 9:45 a.m., Thursday, March 20. Prior to Sam’s Club grand opening for the public, an exclusive tour for the news media is planned at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 18 during which 5 local charities and community organizations will receive grants totaling $18,000.

Wednesday, March 19, Business Members are invited to attend a breakfast and club preview. New and current business members will have opportunity to learn about fax-n-pullsm, Gold Key Hours and other services to help their businesses thrive.

On Thursday March 27th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., an Ultimate Tailgate Event is scheduled in the new Sam’s Club parking lot for Danville’s ultimate race fans. The event will feature food demos, a racecar simulator, inflatable games, Martinsville Speedway’s pace car and more. Tickets to both the truck race on Saturday, March 29 and the Goody’s Cool Orange race on Sunday, March 30 will be given away to lucky attendees.

We are conveniently located and expect our Danville members will save time and gas by shopping Sam’s Club for all their home and business needs. We are also excited to host the Ultimate Tailgate Party a week after we open our doors; this event will be great for our members and the entire Danville community.”

Both Business and Advantage Members can save even more on club services and purchases with a Plus Membership earning up to two percent cash back by using a Sam’s Club Discover card.

Regular Club hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Gold Key Hours for business members are 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.

A new Sam’s Club logo graces the entry and interior of the building as part of an effort to refresh and update branding.
