AT&T Combines Network Services for Taylor Morrison
Newly Merged Home Builder Leverages Network Services From AT&T to Integrate Companies
Bradenton, Florida.- AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced a three-year $1.6 million contract with home builder Taylor Morrison Inc. AT&T will extend network services to Taylor Morrison’s corporate and regional offices across Florida and the United States.
The agreement provides Taylor Morrison with Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)-enabled network services, AT&T’s Internet Protocol (IP)-based Virtual Private Network (VPN) Remote Access Service and Managed Internet Service.
"Taylor Morrison had to integrate the IT assets brought together by the merger of Taylor Woodrow and Morrison Homes" said Merrie Sims, director of Information Technology, Taylor Morrison. "We needed to integrate quickly, minimize disruption to our ongoing business and accomplish our network integration efficiently. AT&T delivered a network solution that brought our two companies together and will give us the capabilities we need to deliver network services to our nationwide team"
Taylor Morrison will use AT&T’s VPN solution to include company sites on AT&T’s MPLS-enabled network, providing these locations with secure and reliable connectivity. This solution was chosen based on the capabilities of AT&T’s MPLS network, which will enable communication among Taylor Morrison’s locations without funneling traffic through a central hub. This any-to-any service will help ensure business continuity for Taylor Morrison because communications are not dependent on any single location’s connectivity. The solution also enhances the efficiency of data transport because communications do not encounter clogs at a central hub.
"In a challenging housing market, we require network services that enable our successful team of builders and sales representatives to do what they do best, which is build and sell homes" said Sims. "Our agreement with AT&T allows us to stay focused on our business and provides us with great flexibility as our network service needs evolve"
