Iceland Express wins website design awards

Budget airline Iceland Express wins best Icelandic e-commerce and service website.

The Association of the Icelandic Internet Industry (Svef.is) recently announced the winners of its annual website awards.
Iceland Express’ website, icelandexpress.com, was awarded as the best e-commerce and service website in Iceland. It was also a finalist in the category ‘Best look and user interface.
According to the jury’s statement, the award for Iceland Express was based on the website being well designed, easy to navigate and very helpful for customers.

“Complicated matters are made easy to understand and the website is designed in a way that makes the customer always come first” according to the jury’s statement. The jury consisted of a number of Icelandic professionals from the Internet industry.
This is not the first time the Iceland Express website has been recognised for its design quality. The low-cost airline received the Best Website award at the World Low Cost Airlines Congress held in London last year.

When choosing the winner the jury gave points for clarity and easy access to web content, with a special emphasis on simple and user-friendly booking process. Points were also given for web design, images, typography and creativity in presenting information.

Iceland Express is a budget airline which offers daily low-fare flights between Reykjavik and 14 destinations in Europe. The airline has no length-of-stay restrictions, no Sunday rule, easy online booking and e-ticketing.
