Solution Converges Voice and Data Communications and Brings Benefits of Big-Business Innovation to Small and Medium Businesses

San Antonio, Texas

More power, less complexity. That’s what smaller businesses need from connectivity, and that’s what AT&T is delivering with an innovative new solution that converges voice, Internet and data communications over a single network connection and device.

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced the availability of AT&T Business in a BoxSM, a service that harnesses the power of Internet Protocol (IP) communications to simplify IT operations for smaller and midsize businesses (SMBs) and branch offices of large businesses. The solution brings the advantages of AT&T’s long history of innovation in the enterprise business market to the SMB market.

AT&T Business in a Box enables migration from traditional analog to Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions, reducing operating expenses by integrating voice and data services. It addresses the complexity and interoperability challenges of small and midsize business by delivering a simple converged network endpoint. The service features a device equipped with all necessary data ports and connectors and delivers:

* VoIP functionality through AT&T Voice DNASM.
* Internet access routing with built-in firewall protection.
* Virtual Private Network (VPN) capabilities.
* Wi-Fi data access capabilities.
* Local area network connectivity with Power Over Ethernet connections.

AT&T Business in a Box delivers many communications capabilities traditionally reserved for larger enterprises. The solution is ideal for smaller or midsize businesses with a single office or larger organizations with multiple sites that have five to 50 employees each. The solution is well-suited for a variety of small sites, including retail, health care clinics, restaurants and financial, legal and real estate offices.

Businesses for which the AT&T Business in a Box solution especially makes sense include those that are:

* Lacking an on-site IT support.
* Moving to new location.
* Upgrading, expanding or replacing their local area network.
* Deploying various voice and data technologies that must work together.

“AT&T Business in a Box enables small sites to enhance their customer service and their core business operations with minimal technical knowledge or effort,” said Ann Rotatori, vice president, Business Marketing for AT&T. “The converged solution is applicable to a variety of industries and can help businesses grow immediately. We’re bringing the power of big-business technology down market for ease of use and quick startup.”

The new solution is based on established industry standards and is compatible with multiple analog and IP handsets. Throughout the year, new features and additional capacity will be added to further enhance the capabilities of AT&T Business in a Box.
