Vancouver, Canada February 11, 2008 - Rx Networks Inc., announced that it has started cooperation in the area of Assisted GPS with STMicroelectronics.

This modular extended ephemeris solution, based on Rx Networks GPStream™ technology, and optimized for STMicroelectronics’ GPS chipset portfolio, targets both network connected devices and connectionless devices. Initially targeting Personal Navigation Devices, thanks to its full compliance with telecommunication requirements, the solution is suitable for mobile phone applications.

The solution set provides SUPL compliance, autonomous extended ephemeris for connectionless devices, and a highly compressed, lossless, extended ephemeris solution for devices that have network connectivity.

The connectionless operation enable stand-alone GPS receivers to reduce time to first fix and maintain high initial fix accuracy by predicting satellite orbits. The network operation offer longer predicts, better accuracy & satellite health features. Both modes integrate SUPL feature, providing readily industry wide reliable standard.
