BT Spain launches innovative mobility services for business

BT today announced the launch of its mobility services in Spain, including converged voice and data solutions as well as innovative unified fixed-mobile communications. Together with the mobility service, BT will offer a large range of premium mobile devices, including models from Nokia, Samsung and HTC.

To increase flexibility, productivity and reduce response time, large Spanish companies, as well as SMEs and SOHOs, need access to the same applications they use in their offices e.g. SAP, Microsoft Office, e-mail or internet. BT Spain addresses those requirements by launching the country’s most innovative unified communications service for voice and data convergence yet.

Customers can perform inventory checks, backups, establish anti-theft protection as well as download and install applications. In addition, the “virtual meeting room” offers a telephone-based meeting with up to 40 participants simultaneously. All applications are within easy reach through a single mobile device, using the optimal network available (2’5G-3G, HSDPA-HSUPA).

By customizing the service to access specific company applications such as fleet management, telemedicine or telecontrol, BT Spain customers will be able to compete more effectively.

Jacinto Cavestany, general manager of BT Spain, said: "The new mobile telephony service is undoubtedly a competitive advantage to be considered by any organisation that needs to improve productivity and business efficiency. In Spain, BT is now capable of offering a complete telecoms services portfolio including voice, data, fixed and mobile telephony, all in one unified product.

“The arrival in the mobile telecoms business enables BT to complement its overall services portfolio and strengthen the position of the company in the business market, where BT already enjoys a market share above 20% in the data transmission segment.”

Pedro Mayor, mobile business manager of BT, said: “Companies need to provide their employees with access to information and applications in a simple, secure and reliable way, both from their offices and remotely. They are considered as key elements to improve business efficiency.”
