Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) today announced it signed an agreement with FleetCor the worldwide leader in fuel card processing. Based in Norcross, Ga., FleetCor will use Qwest’s advanced networking technology to connect four call center locations in the United States.
A Qwest customer since 2006, FleetCor provides fuel management services for business fleets of all sizes and supplies them with branded fuel cards. Under the terms of the expanded contract, Qwest will connect four FleetCor call centers using Qwest iQ Networking® services, a wide area network (WAN) solution based on multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) technology. Qwest will also be their exclusive provider of long distance and Qwest Hosted Interactive Voice Response (IVR) services.

“As the worldwide leader in fuel cards, customers expect us to stay ahead of the curve by anticipating their needs and continuously improve our operations,” said Waddaah Keirbeck, vice president of IT at FleetCor. “Qwest designed a nationwide network solution that gives us the bandwidth to process customer transactions faster and more efficiently, automates key service functions to enhance the customer experience, and provides a secure and redundant network to process transactions.”

Qwest iQ Networking gives FleetCor a redundant technology platform capable of transferring large amounts of data and customer information quickly and securely -- supporting the company’s plans to integrate its call center operations. With Qwest Hosted IVR, FleetCor will have the ability to offer customers more self-service options, enhancing the customer experience and minimizing wait times.

"As a rapidly growing company, FleetCor was looking for a solution to give them the bandwidth they wanted, the redundancy they needed, and the flexibility to support their dynamic environment,” said Tom Richards, executive vice president, Qwest Business Markets Group. “We worked closely with FleetCor’s IT team and feel confident that our solutions will give them the reach, connectivity and flexibility to support their long-term business strategies.”

With Qwest iQ Networking, customers benefit from simplified networks that use and enhance their existing technologies. The solution focuses on solving business problems for customers, reducing total cost and delivering an unparalleled service delivery experience. The Qwest iQ Networking provides feature-rich platforms built specifically for customers’ business applications such as voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and disaster recovery.
