China Mobile selects Alcatel-Lucent’s video surveillance solution for public security of Jiaxing city within the Zhejiang province of China

Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced that its video surveillance solution has been selected by China Mobile Group Jiaxing Co., Ltd for its public security system in the rural areas of Jiaxing, Zhejiang province in China. Named “Security Guards”, the video surveillance system falls under the rural areas informationization program initiated by the operator. Alcatel Shanghai Bell, Alcatel-Lucent’s flagship Chinese company, will be responsible for equipment provisioning and network deployment as well as marketing and promoting the new services with the operator.

Under the terms of the contract, Alcatel-Lucent will supply its Video Surveillance System and video streaming platform to the operator. Primarily deployed in the rural areas among government buildings, major traffic areas and high-density population districts of Jiaxing city, the system will provide highly reliable surveillance services to subscribers. Once implemented, the subscribers will be able to access real-time video/images through their PC or images through mobile handsets via the surveillance system.
