Online solution to Christmas home delivery problem

WEBWIRE

mySupermarket.co.uk has come up with a clever way to find an online supermarket delivery slot during the busiest shopping time of the year.

Online shopping is very popular at this time of year as more and more people turn to the Internet to bulk buy for the whole of the Christmas period. The huge numbers of orders makes it increasingly difficult for online shoppers to find a suitable delivery time for their supermarket groceries.

In the last couple of years delivery slots have been completely booked up by mid December which has caused widespread customer complaints. The only option up until now has been to check delivery slots at every supermarket website but this is a time-consuming and painful process.

mySupermarket.co.uk, a grocery price comparison website, has come up with a simple solution to the problem. The site now allows shoppers to search for delivery slots across all supermarkets and choose a time that suits them. mySupermarket covers the four main online supermarkets in the UK; Ocado (Waitrose), Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda.

The shopping site last week published details of a survey it had carried out on 24 supermarket products over the course of a year. It found the price of potatoes had gone up from 98p to £1.76 at Asda while the cost of Christmas turkeys has risen by approx 10% across the board. mySupermarket still found Asda to be the cheapest despite the largest percentage increases.
