MetaSwitch, a leading industry vendor of softswitch and applications solutions, today announced it has partnered with Network Insight to provide an outsourced network operations center (NOC) management function for service providers seeking competitive advantage from streamlined operations and professional 24x7 customer support. This new service, branded as OmniPulse, will be offered through MetaSwitch’s professional service organization and enables MetaSwitch customers to elect to offload this resource-consuming function to a reliable, trusted third party.

The OmniPulse service provides a comprehensive network view, and swift, effective control of all elements in both traditional and digital networks. As an outsourced service, it avoids the significant capital, training and staff expenses associated with building an in-house network operations team. The managed solution encompasses network monitoring, reporting, escalation, break/fix and alerts. The service will monitor and proactively maintain a consistent level of network service and availability in MetaSwitch-powered infrastructure and applications.

“It’s imperative that we have a complete view of our network, as well as the ability to quickly and efficiently resolve issues, to enable us to continue to focus on bringing new, innovative services to our customers,” said Dror Mei-Tal, chief executive officer of Global Telecom Brokers (GTB), the oldest full-service telecommunications provider headquartered in Maryland. “But, as a competitive carrier, we need a program that doesn’t require extensive resources and around-the-clock staffing. Having a trusted partner managing our NOC provides us with the knowledge, tools and peace of mind to continue building our business and take full advantage of our MetaSwitch-powered network.”

“NOC management service enables customers like GTB to leverage a highly trained, managed resource to streamline a critical network management function,” said Paul Drew, vice president of professional services for MetaSwitch. “As carriers grow their businesses based on the introduction of compelling IP services, the scope and complexity of the infrastructure increases. Our partnership with Network Insight provides a cost effective option that our customers can rely on to ensure voice services are managed, maintained and delivered.”

“What we have learned over the years is that service providers are looking for more than just ’break/fix’ activities,” said Chris Pond, Network Insight president and chief executive officer. “Our partnership with MetaSwitch means we can proactively manage carriers’ legacy and next-generation networks to head off network issues before they impact the end-user, enabling the carriers to focus on delivering innovative services that attract and retain customers.”
