DuPont Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer Linda Fisher recently addressed an audience of more than 500 executives from retailers, consumer goods companies, and other packaging industry value chain participants at the Sustainable Packaging Forum in Pittsburgh, Pa.

“Sustainable packaging is a growing and important focus area for DuPont. It is part of the company’s overall commitment to create shareholder and societal value while providing direct, quantifiable environmental benefits for our customers and consumers along our value chains,” Linda said.

At the forum, DuPont announced that innovations in sustainable packaging now will be a key evaluation criteria in its long-running DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation, now in its 20th year.

“DuPont can provide us with higher performance polymers that are made from renewable resources. This helps us promote source reduction in packaging,” said Mark Kitzis from Alcan Packaging.

The Forum was sponsored by the Coalition for Sustainable Packaging, an environmental advocacy group. DuPont is a member.
