EMSL Analytical Introduces New Printable Geographical Radon Maps

Downloadable Maps allow Homeowners to Assess the Risks in their Area.

EMSL Analytical, the leader in providing cutting edge laboratory services and products, has recently released downloadable radon maps of the United States from EPA sources. The maps allow property owners the ability to view their state and county to help assess the potential radon risks to their properties.

Radon is a radioactive gas that comes from the natural decay of radium. It is a colorless, odorless and chemically inert gas that cannot be detected by human senses. According the Surgeon General of the United States, radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in our country. The EPA’s 2003 Assessment of Risks from Radon reports it is estimated 21,000 lung cancer deaths are the result of radon each year in the United States.
